The fallout of 2017’s disaster Justice League was an outcry of the fans to give them the original vision of Zack Snyder. The Joss Whedon directed film was a disappointment for not only every DC fans but also any cinephile. Add to that the allegations of Gal Gadot on director Joss Whedon’s behavior. The Justice League altogether was turning out to be a nightmare of Warner Bros. The uproar for the Zack Snyder’s Justice League was increasing with every new day. Many Warner Bros. executives had denied the existence of the Snyder Cut but Snyder had repeatedly dropped hints that the version indeed existed. The fans campaign was so persuasive that Warner Bros. had to finally admit the existence of the Snyder Cut and let Snyder work on it so that the fans can see it.
The 4 years of protesting was worth it as when the Snyder Cut released it was a 4 hour long affair. Upping every element for Whedon film, Snyder gave us a darker, grimmer, bigger and an overall better version of the Justice League. This is movie fans wished to see, the team up that was in the making since Man of Steel. This movie is indeed special as it is a result of the vigorous fan campaigning. Alas, the movie never released in theatres as Warner Bros. directly put it on HBO Max. For a longtime the movie was not even available for digital purchase or for Blu-ray copies. However, a few months back that changed and today it looks like the Justice League many finally get a theatrical release
Kevin Smith Announces Zack Snyder’s Justice League Theatrical Release!
Kevin Patrick Smith is a filmmaker, actor, comedian, comic book writer, author, YouTuber, and podcaster. His podcast “Fatman and Beyond” is quite popular. On the same podcast, Smith confirmed the film’s big-screen debut. The showing of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, set for 2023, will be a part of a series of screenings and Q&A sessions called Directly Responsible: Face-to-Face With Filmmakers at Smodcastle. Smith said about the upcoming screening, “Zack Snyder is coming in the new year, and he was like, ‘I’ve never shown Justice League in a theater once.’ So I was like, ‘Brother, bring it!'”
Alongside Snyder, there are many filmmakers who will be a part of this event. Namely fellow directors Jason Reitman — known for helming such hits as Juno and Ghostbusters: Afterlife — and Marvel Cinematic Universe darlings Joe and Anthony Russo. These screenings and Q&A sessions are one of the many initiatives that Kevin Smith takes to promote his new theatre in New Jersey as he wants to make it a popular destination for moviegoers in the future.
