Netflix’s juggernaut series Stranger Things came out this year with its 4th season. It was the biggest season thus far, be it in terms of scale or runtime. The season was divided between two parts given the massive runtime of the season. Part One left us on a huge cliffhanger where we understood the broken narrative into a wholesome one. Henry Creel, One, and Vecna are one and the same person. After this huge revelation, we’d have to wait for an entire month for part two. Part One consisted of 7 episodes that were well over an hour. Part Two only had two episodes, however those episodes were long enough to be feature films. The season finale ended on a bigger finale than Part One’s finale. We saw that despite the best efforts of our heroes, Vecna was able to open the 4th gate and the Upside Down has begin to spill into the real world.

The end of the season was so shocking as the previous three seasons of the show all had a very happy end but this season ends on a losing note. They really did make an Avengers: Infinity War. So, considering the end of the season fans were anxious to see the concluding chapter in the Hawkins Saga. However, fans had to wait for a normal amount of time between seasons to see how the Heroes of Hawkins finally put Vecna in the ground. The showrunners and writers of the show- The Duffer Brothers were on vacation after the 4th season was released. While we’re all eager to see what the Duffer Brother have in store for us in the 5th season, we also don’t want to see it as it will be the last season that means we’ll say goodbye to a lot of our favorite characters. While we’re unhappy about it there seems to be one person who is excited about it.

Why is David Harbour Excited About Stranger Things Season 5 Ending?

Stranger Things 4 Vol. 2 - David Harbour Hints Hopper-Eleven Reunion

David Harbour has been an integral part of Stranger Things from the very start. The actor plays one of the most pivotal characters of the series- Jim Hopper. In an appearance on the Phase Zero podcast, David Harbour talked about how he feels about retiring from the show with season 5. There the actor mentioned that he is actually excited to be at the end of the show. The Black Widow actor said:

“That’s a hard question to answer because I’m excited for it to be the end because I’m excited to do other things. There’s so many other things which I wanna do and at the same time, it’s my favorite character that I’ve ever played and those guys, the Duffer brothers, are my favorite guys and they make my favorite stuff. So, of course, it has a real sadness to it. The great thing is, we know it going in and it’s not something where it will come up on us and we’ll be like “Oh that was the last time, we got canceled.” It’s like, we know it and so in that way, I’ll be able to pour my soul into this year of filming, or however long it’ll take to shoot eight episodes, I’ll be able to pour my soul into Jim Hopper who I’ve loved, but in a way, it’ll be a real consummation as opposed to something where I have to feel sad or all kinds of things about it and I can really just do it.”

All four seasons of Stranger Things are currently available for streaming on Netflix.
