The Witcher Blood Origin Trailer Takes A Deep Dive Into The Witcher Lore

The Witcher universe has seen quite a bit of expansion in the recent past. Since 2019, we have seen Netflix executing all their Witcher plans including the main web series, the anime “Nightmare of the Wolf”, and the spinoff “The Witcher: Blood Origin”. Also, just a few months ago, CDPR also announced a new Witcher game with Witcher 3 next gen update also coming up soon. That aside, a new Witcher anime film called The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep was also leaked. Also, as you may know Witcher Season 3 is all set to debut in Mid 2023 but before that fans are prepping for The Witcher: Blood Origin prequel series. As it happens, the very first full length trailer for the spin-off is here!

The Witcher: Blood Origin Is Almost Here!

The Witcher Blood Origin Release Date, Cast, Characters, Poster and More Updates

The Witcher: Blood Origin is an upcoming horror fantasy series based in the world of Witcher. It is basically a prequel series that takes place thousands of years before the events of The Witcher and The Nightmare of the Wolf. So, if you expect to see your favorite characters from the series, well you won’t. The Witcher: Blood Origins is all set to release this year. We saw the first teaser/trailer for it at the end of The Witcher Season 2 and it definitely looked promising. Good thing about it is that it will provide something new to the fans of the universe.

Set 1200 years before the current timeline, Blood Origin will be based in the time when conjunction of spheres took place. We will talk more about this in the next segment. Blood Origins is going to be a four-part (formerly six) miniseries inspired by the writings of Andrzej Sapkowski. Its main cast includes Sophia Brown, Laurence O’Fuarain, Michelle Yeoh, Lenny Henry, and Jacob Collins-Levy. The new and full trailer for the series is now out and before we dive into it, check it out yourself.

The trailer, in my honest opinion, stands true to the promise this series made and teases is well without revealing much. However, it is clear from the trailer that it will take us back to the birth of this Universe as explained above. It focused on the human elven war and a group of 7 warriors who are trying to make sense of all the prevailing chaos. It is also clear that we’ll be seeing the Conjunction of Spheres as we saw many monster starting to pop up into the world. Also, it was a pleasure to see Joey Batey’s Dandelion/Jaskier once again as he’ll be co-narrating this tale in the present. So, this trailer is definitely the most in-depth and clear look at the mini-series yet and it surely looks promising!

The Witcher: Blood Origin is all set to release exclusively on Netflix this Christmas aka 25 December 2022.
