So Ezra Miller, who is on his way to rehabilitation after a very public dip into psychopathic tendencies is still DCU’s The Flash that is until James Gunn and Peter Safran inevitably replace him as well. However, nothing is confirmed as of yet, so for now DC’s Flash is Ezra Miller even though he committed multiple felonies but actors like Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot faced the axe. Well done Warner Bros. Discovery or rather Gunn-Safran. Regardless, the decision to let the Flash movie be released was taken by Warner Bros. in August. Ezra Miller released a statement about regretting his actions and promising to working on his mental health.
The Flash was always going to be important for the DCEU as it was supposed to result into some kind of soft reboot that will allow Warner Bros. to put a carpet on their past mistakes (2017’s Justice League) and start anew where they churn out the weed but are still able to use the parts that work. The movie faced a lot of issues for obvious reasons but after Warner Bros. decided to go on with the film, its release date was carved in stone. The trailer for the film is supposed to drop soon as well. As the film is gathering some hype, director Andres Muschietti has hyped the film even more as he has revealed a new Justice League would feature in the Flash movie.
The Flash Movie: Who Will Be In The New Justice League?
In a recently surfaced featurette, Andres Muschietti the director of the film revealed to all the fans that the Justice League that will feature in the movie won’t be the powerful version which they have known them to be. The director said, “We are presenting [a] Justice League that is not the powerful Justice League that we all know.” Muschietti then gave us a rundown of all the members of the team. The director listed down, “As Bruce Wayne said, it’s like a retired vigilante, a half-solar-powered alien, and two idiots.”
Of all the things that we know about the film, one of them is that the other Barry Allen will the be the central villain of the movie and he shall be called the “Dark Flash”, antagonist to Ezra Miller’s displaced Barry Allen. In the same featurette, Jim Lee who is the Chief Creative Officer of DC Comics revealed why the Multiverse is so important to the film’s narrative. Lee said, “The great story at DC involves the Multiverse, meaning [there’s] an infinite number of Earths. There could be different versions of these characters and really explore different stories. The Flash is synonymous to the Multiverse.”
Barbara Muschietti who is producer of The Flash movie confirmed that Gal Gadot will return as Wonder Woman while explaining why Keaton decided to return as the Dark Knight. The conversation looked something like:
Andy Muschietti: “It’s a dream. Being able to work with this cast like [Ben] Affleck,[Michael] Keaton…”
Miller: “There are multiple Batmans…”
Barbara Muschietti: “[Michael] Keaton said that he’d love to be Batman again. He knows that Batman like no one else does.”
Miller: “Batsman. There’s more than one Batman.”
Barbara Muschietti: “Then we have Sasha Calle…”
Sasha Calle: “Everything is the coolest, most exciting thing for me.”
Andy Muschietti: “Michael Shannon plays Zod…”
Barbara Muschietti: “Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.”
Andres Muschietti (IT) will helm The Flash, and Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey, Batgirl) will pen the story. Additionally, it will feature the Bruce Wayne/Batman characters played by Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton, as well as Sasha Calle as Supergirl, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdu as Nora Allen, Ian Loh as a young Barry Allen, and Saoirse-Monica Jackson and Rudy Mancuso in unspecified roles.
