Blue Lock is one of the top selling manga series in the world right now and sold over 1.5 Million copies in December 2022 (#1 Rank). It is written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro, illustrated by Yusuke Nomura, and revolved around, Ego Jinpachi who is hired by the Japanese Football Union to lead the team to victory in FIFA WC.. His master plan to lead Japan to stardom is Blue Lock, a training regimen designed to create the world’s greatest egotist striker. As it happens, its anime television series adaptation produced by Eight Bit premiered in October 2022 and that led to a huge boost in its popularity. It dethroned Slam Dunk as best selling sports manga in December 2022 as well as every other manga in the world. Now that 2023 has begun, the first chapter of the year aka Blue Lock Chapter 202 is all set to debut soon and that is exactly what this article is about.
Blue Lock Chapter 202 Spoilers and Full Plot Summary

From the previous chapter, we see Noa stopping Cris from getting the ball that Kurona passed. Noa says, “You’re using the No. 1 as a sacrificial pawn too, huh… Isagi Yoichi.” Isagi is now seen running towards the ball but on his left is Kaiser, not giving up on pestering him. Kaiser says, “Ex-f*cking-cuse me, Part 2. Do you have a vision of the goal? Your weapon is your “direct shot”… so, if you can get you out of position like this, and make you do one trap… You’re a dead talent.” Because of that, Isagi was forced to trap the ball. Kaiser goes on to say, “See, Yoichi. I f*cked up with your climax “. Kaiser looked confident when Isagi just looked at him and said, “Ah, Kaiser. That’s perfect…”. Kaiser was taken aback with a “Huh?”
Isagi delivers a monologue, “If you hadn’t come, I would have been the protagonist…but you came… the one I plunged into darkness- he (Yukimiya) will come back to life from the verge of death!!!”. Isagi kicked the ball on his back to Yukimiya for a pass. Yukimiya looked at Isagi and called his name. Now, back to Isagi and Kaiser. Isagi is grabbing Kaiser by the collar. Isagi says, “Could you have imagined this last pass, Kaiser? Any one of them will do… It’s my “challenge” to beat you…” and Kaiser replies with, “Huh…?”. Isagi goes on to say, “How is it, Kaiser… How does it feel to be the clown in my story?” and Kaiser replies, “You’re… crazy…”
Isagi goes to deliver another monologue, “This choice is my “best piece” right now. This is what will lead me to FLOW. THIS IS MY STORY!!! Now, come!! Shoot it, you mud boat!!! “Die” with your goal!!!”. Isagi continues to block Kaiser while he looks at Yukimiya. Isagi says, “You’re gonna crush me, aren’t you? You’re gonna kill me, right?” Now we hear Yukimiya’s monologue – “Shut up… Shut up!! Shut up… I said shut up… I won’t let Isagi decide how I end up!!! No matter how far I fall, I will not let even God take this “ego”!” On the page where Yukimiya got the ball to give it a kick, are words like “Isagi was the only one who could see me” “Isagi found me”, “God only gives us trials that we can overcome”, “I don’t. have time”, “I don’t need righteousness”, and “I’m gonna disappear. I don’t want to disappear.”
Yukimiya shoots a “gyroshot”. Rooke, the GK for Manshine C, seems that he can’t reach it so Reo comes to the rescue. Reo said that he has read that shot to Isagi that Isagi even found it unbelievable. Reo tried his best to reach the ball before it reached the net but he failed because the ball suddenly dropped down. The shot Yukimiya made is inspired by Cris’ distorted shot, but he increased the amount of oblique rotation to his new shot, “Sword Screw” (kanji is, which literally translates to “Sword Shoot-down Shot”) With that, Yukimiya scored the final goal for the match, 3-2, in favor of Bastard Munchen. “In the field where your nemesis, Kaiser, is in ‘complete control’, ‘He who came back to life’, Yukimiya’s shot bursts forth!! Here is the ‘new scenery’ shown by the two ‘protagonists’!!” This is where the chapter ends and hopefully there will not be a break next week and the next chapter will be called “Overheat”.
BL Chapter 202 Release Date and Time
Blue Lock Chapter 202 is scheduled to launch on Wednesday, January 11, 2022 at 12:00 AM JST. As Blue Lock is printed in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine, a brand new chapter comes out each Tuesday/Wednesday. Obviously, the date and time of this manga will change from nation to nation because of the totally different worldwide time zones and we have compiled a list of few of them below:
