Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight is Marvel’s first dark and supernatural character in MCU, and the series has laid the foundations for the other such characters to join the dark Marvel universe. Moon Knight just debuted it’s penultimate episode today which is probably the best one so far. This review doesn’t consist of any major spoilers but might have some minor ones. Rest assure, it will not spoil your fun in any way.

Oscar Isaac Delivers A Heartfelt Performance
Moon Knight has been a roller coaster ride so far with a couple of great episodes including the 4th one. Episode 4 left us with a shocking twist towards the end which turned out to a distraction rather than a twist. Moon Knight episode 5 didn’t showcase anything unexpected but was surely quite mind-bending. It has quite an FX Legion like vibe where Marc Spector was basically David Haller. But what stood out in this episode was the exceptional performance by Oscar Isaac.
In this episode Oscar Isaac showcased why he is one the finest actors of this generation. He displayed range of emotions and all them quite beautifully. What really struck me was that he actually succeeded in making viewers feel his pain and trauma. So, in short Oscar Isaac has fully committed to his role and that’s precisely what we expected when this critically acclaimed actor joined the MCU.
Moon Knight Episode 5 Barely Features Any Moon Knight
This episode took a deep dive into Marc Spector’s past and revealed some important yet not very shocking secrets. The beauty of this episode lies in its execution as the VFX, cinematography, and sound designing were on point. The episode also featured some slightly scary sequences just like episode 1 and 2 but they were not very disturbing. So, kids can still watch it under the guidance of their parents. Only thing this episode lacked was Moon Knight the superhero in action.
We are quite close to the ending now and we have seen little to nothing of Moon Knight. So, that’s one huge complaint I have from this otherwise cool show. So, non-comic book readers still aren’t very impressed with Moon Knight the superhero and still don’t fully understand his skill set and potential. That I believe can be fixed in next week’s final episode as the mental state arc of Oscar Isaac’s character seems has been wrapped up in episode 5.
