Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is an upcoming fantasy-action movie that is based on the famous tabletop game called Dungeons and Dragons. The film is directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. The film is penned by Daley and Goldstein along with co-writer Michael Gilio. There have been many attempts to bring the imaginative world of the game to the big screen but I think I can say this without offending anyone that any attempts made so far have been terrible. However, this new adaptation looks different as it has been made on a hefty budget that justifies the intensity of the source material and the cast on board with the film is not to be taken lightly. The two trailers that were released risked the film to be an MCU superhero film and given the fatigue that the audience is already in no wanted to see another movie cut from the same cloth. However, as some critics have gotten an opportunity to watch the movie they have promised us an exciting ride which will be just too much fun to miss out on.
Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Is Awesome!
The film stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Sophia Lillis, Regé-Jean Page, Hugh Grant, and Justice Smith. Game Night directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are handling the writing and directing for the film. Some lucky viewers and critics have already seen Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and have shared their short reviews and reactions for the film. For the most part, they appear to be pretty great making it a solid entry to what could possibly turn into a franchise. However, we’ll ask you not to rely on these early reviews as these days we have seen a trend where first reviews for almost every film are great but the actual reviews and the film often turn out to be disappointing. So don’t hype yourself too much and manage your expectations. Anyways, check out some of these reactions below!
#DungeonsAndDragonsMovie was an EXPERIENCE! No need for a saving throw, because the charisma is already through the roof. (Mixing my metaphors but the point is that it’s just a fun time with a great group of people on and offscreen!) And yes, Pine is the best Chris. #DnDMovie pic.twitter.com/JF7uVQOi55

#dungeonsanddragonsmovie is a lot of fun, which is all the movie is really interested in doing. The characters are kind of thin but the cast make up for that along with some great creatures and rock-solid action. Feels destined to be watched by very dedicated fans over the years. pic.twitter.com/61XQ8lq2Sq

Apparently the whole cast played D&D on set. "It's a game for actors … it's like improv" – Chris Pine pic.twitter.com/5U7udSn8b9

Also, I do not play Dungeons and Dragons and understand zero references, so I am watching it from that perspective. I imagine fans will feast on all the little details – I just loved watching a bonkers fantasy film full of imagination. It’s long, but it’s very entertaining pic.twitter.com/Vh5MwVt8Hu

#SXSW2023: Hearing Chris Pine say “I am a bad father” may have broken something in me psychologically, but the #dungeonsanddragonsmovie is such a fun ride from beginning to end. I think the key to enjoying this movie isn’t knowing DND inside out, it’s embracing the concept. pic.twitter.com/ZOoFCeawnP
