House of the Dragon takes viewers back to the Game of Thrones universe after the obscene series finale of GOT. Season One Finale of House of the Dragon has elevated the show’s quality to a different ballpark altogether. The show started out great with a very strong pilot and each episode since simply took the show’s quality to new levels. The show wasn’t even affected by the recasting of the main characters. Fans simply adored the carefully crafted narrative that was so investing. The pilot of the show became HBO Max’s biggest debut with 10 Million viewers. The most recent ratings reports suggests that the prequel has garnered an audience of 29 Million on an average which is the best for any show after Game of Thrones’ Season 8 which had 44 Million viewers on an average. The series was renewed just after the pilot broke so many records and after so much time we finally have an update on the second season as it has started production!
House of the Dragon Season 2 Teases An Epic Battle!
The filming for House of the Dragon Season 2 is underway as was rumored. It began sometime in March and this what showrunner Ryan Condal had to say on that, “House of the Dragon has returned, we are thrilled to be shooting again with members of our original family as well as new talents on both sides of the camera. All your favorite characters will soon be conspiring at the council tables, marching with their armies and riding their dragons into battle. We can’t wait to share what we have in store.”
The new talent that Condal is referring to is the addition of executive producer and Emmy-winning director Alan Taylor, whose work on Game of Thrones was pivotal to helping establish the directorial tone of the show. Taylor, who recently made the pilot for AMC’s acclaimed Interview With the Vampire series, was brought on board after House of the Dragon season one’s co-showrunner and director Miguel Sapochnik stepped down.
House of the Dragon has an incredible ensemble cast that includes Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans. Along with the main cast, the supporting cast of the show includes- Milly Alcock, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Emily Carey, Harry Collett, Ryan Corr, Tom Glynn-Carney, Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Wil Johnson, John Macmillan, Graham McTavish, Ewan Mitchell, Theo Nate, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson, Phia Saban, Gavin Spokes, Savannah Steyn, and more.
