MaXXXine

Ti West is one of the best horror directors of today’s era. The filmmaker started off last year with a bang as he released his much awaited venture – X. As dry as the title is, so much good is the film. When I watched X, I had zero expectations. I tuned in simply to enjoy myself for 2 hours but what I got was so much more. The film was layered, comedic, had a great wacky premise and out of everything it had amazing direction. When the prequel of the film released – Pearl, I was expecting an outlandish film, however, the film was completely different than what I had imagined and for the better. It was more of a drama, almost a character study which could’ve easily come across as boring if it was not for Mia Goth’s unbelievable performance. Given my love for the franchise, I was incredibly hyped for the final installment – MaXXXine. Unfortunately, we had no updates about it, until today.

Mia Goth’s Maxxxine Finally Gets The Life She Deserves!

After a dry 2-3 months, we have finally gotten an update regarding MaXXXine. A24 surprised the X trilogy fans by sharing a first look at Mia Goth’s titular character. A24 took to Twitter and shared an image with the caption, “The life she deserves”. Check out the First Look at Mia Goth’s Maxine in Ti West’s MaXXXine:

MaXXXineis described, “The film follows Maxine (Goth), after the events of X, as the sole survivor who continues her journey towards fame setting out to make it as an actress in 1980s Los Angeles.”

“It’s the best script of the three by far. It’s going be the best movie of the three,” Goth revealed to Variety earlier this year. She further continued with, “We’re all so tight now. This is going to be our third movie we’re working on together and everyone’s coming back together, so it’s bringing the band all back together again. We just have a shorthand with each other. We know how everybody works and we’re all so excited. It’s the biggest story of the three with the highest stakes and Maxine has gone through so much at this point. So when we find her in this new world, she’s just a force to be reckoned with and she goes through some pretty wild adventures.”

Along with Goth, MaXXXine has a powerpack cast with Elizabeth Debicki (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3), Moses Sumney (The Idol), Michelle Monaghan (Nanny), Bobby Cannavale (The Watcher), Lily Collins (Emily in Paris), Halsey (Americana), Giancarlo Esposito (Better Call Saul), and Kevin Bacon (City on a Hill).

MaXXXine doesn’t have an official release as of now but it is estimated to release in early 2024.
