The Flash

The Flash was DC’s desperate attempt to make up for the losses caused by Black Adam and Shazam! Fury of the Gods. This is why they tried to fool the audiences by calling the film a masterpiece. It was not just the Warner Bros. execs but also big names like Tom Cruise and Stephen King. I don’t know how did the marketing team of Warner Bros. were able to pull that off but hats off. However, these marketing schemes had no effect on the audience as no one was motivated to watch the film. Moreover, the bad word of mouth stopped the handful of people who were interested to come in the theatres. With Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom already being labelled as a flop, DC is truly in crisis mode. If you were one of the people who didn’t want to go to the theatres to watch the Flash rather see it at home when it releases digitally well, that time has come. Much earlier than you’d have expected, well, much earlier Warner Bros. must’ve expected.

The Flash Will Release On Digital Next Week!

Amazon confirmed that DC Studios’ The Flash will be available for online purchase on Tuesday, July 18 at 12 a.m. ET, exactly one month after the movie first debuted in theaters worldwide. The film is being labelled as the worst flop in the history of superhero movies. The Andy Muschietti directorial has minted $262 million at the worldwide box office. This figure is nothing in comparison to the $200 million production budget and $150 million marketing budget. Also, don’t forget half of the theatrical run goes to the exhibitors (theatre owners).

Which means The Flash has basically earned $131 million on a budget of $350 million. That is bad. Very bad. Which is why Warner Bros. is desperately trying to reduce their losses by making the movie available for digital purchase so early. This now brings up the question of when The Flash will begin its streaming run on Max, which was initially announced to come this fall during a Warner Bros. Discovery event in April for the streaming service.

With the digital release coming so soon, there’s a chance that The Flash may actually hit Max before the end of summer or at the start of fall sometime in September. A pre-order new listing on Blu-ray.com revealed the The Flash’s potential physical media release date. The date displayed on the website is September 5th 2023. While this is not the official date at least yet, Blu-ray.com has a record of credibility, suggesting September 5 is likely the current projected date.

Andres Muschietti (IT) will helm The Flash, and Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey, Batgirl) will pen the story. Additionally, it will feature the Bruce Wayne/Batman characters played by Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton, as well as Sasha Calle as Supergirl, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdu as Nora Allen, Ian Loh as a young Barry Allen, and Saoirse-Monica Jackson and Rudy Mancuso in unspecified roles.

The Flash is currently playing theatres near you.
