Taylor Swift is currently on her multi-million dollar grossing Eras tour, with sold-out shows worldwide – and nearly everybody from tinsel-town is attending. With multiple re-recordings of her previously released albums, an international stadium tour, and a new album under her wing, the singer-songwriter is having one of her busiest years as of late. However, it is not her musical catalog that has sent the rumor mill rolling as of late. It has to do with another industry that Swift has dipped her toes in before, from time to time.
Will Taylor Swift Star As Dazzler in Deadpool 3?
With Deadpool 3 coming soon, people have been speculating whether Dazzler, the music-making mutant will be making an appearance in the movie. The MCU popstar Alison Baire, who is often associated with the X-Men, can convert sound into beams of light and energy. A lot of people have fancast Taylor Swift as the mutant, considering she shares many traits with Dazzler – not only is the songstress a fabulous pop star, her middle name is also Alison.
Recently, Erik Davis, the head of Fandango stoked the fires by quote-tweeting the rumor, stating that “Many years ago I asked Kevin Feige if he were to ever direct his own Marvel movie, which character would he want to focus on. He said Dazzler. He’s a big fan.” However, a lot of fact-checkers stated that the rumors were untrue – and there had been no conversations regarding the same with Taylor Swift.
Taylor Swift’s association with the casting of Dazzler is not new. Even in 2016, there had been such an onslaught of rumors during the production of X-Men: Apocalypse. There is also quite a decent chunk of fan-art depicting the singer as Dazzler. The rumors had been so powerful that MTV News did a detailed search into the truth of the matter and cleared the air around the Blank Space singer ever being involved with the movie.
Taylor Swift has had cameos in movies from time to time, her most recent venture being in the movie Amsterdam. It is not completely implausible that she does show up in the movie, considering the potential she has for the role. Marvel has also played into popular fancasts before, and this would be a great opportunity for them to cash in on the massive star power of Swift. Swift is also friends with Ryan Reynolds, who plays the titular character.
Considering Kevin Feige, one of the biggest names in Marvel Studios, is a big fan of Dazzler, it is not completely implausible that the character makes an appearance in the movie. For now, we can only wait and watch and find out if the singer-songwriter is cast as Dazzlers. Until then, the swifties and Marvel stans who are enthusiastic about this prospect can rely on the fan-art and edits.
