R. Madhavan has consistently gifted amazing films to Indian Cinema from Tamil films like Alaipayuthey (the original Saathiya), and Irudhi Suttru (Saala Khadoos) to Bollywood titles like Rang De Basanti, 3 Idiots, and Tanu Weds Manu 1&2. The freakishly charming actor is now proving his directorial prowess with his latest film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. The film is based on the life of ISRO scientist and engineer S. Nambi Narayan who is being portrayed by Madhavan himself. The film has debuted at this years’ Cannes Film Festival and the first reviews/reactions are coming in now. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect Reviews and Reactions
As mentioned above, Rocketry made its debut at at the 75th Cannes Film Festival on Thursday, May 19. It received a 10 minute long standing ovation beating some of the biggest Hollywood films like Tom Cruise’ Top Gun: Maverick which also received a 6 min standing ovation. Getting such a response at an International stage is a proud moment for Indian cinema as well as India as a whole.

With such an overwhelmingly positive response from the audience, Madhavan has made his directorial debut with a bang and we just can’t wait to see the film now!
Rocketry: The Nambi Effect Release Date, Cast, and Plot
As mentioned above, the upcoming Indian biographical drama film is based on the life of Nambi Narayanan. Narayan is a former scientist and aerospace engineer of the Indian Space Research Organisation who was falsely accused of espionage. The film began its pre-production works in early-2017 and its first trailer was launched in April which you can view above. The film has been directed by R. Madhavan and features the following cast ensemble:

- Simran as Meena Narayanan
- Rajit Kapur as Vikram Sarabhai (Hindi and English versions)
- Ravi Raghavendra as Vikram Sarabhai (Tamil version)
- Misha Ghoshal as Geeta Narayanan
- Shyam Renganathan as Shankar Narayanan
- Gulshan Grover as A. P. J. Abdul Kalam
- Shah Rukh Khan as himself
That aside, the cinematography of the film is done by Sirsha Ray and the film’s editing was handled by Bijith Bala. The original score for the film has been composed by Sam C. S. The film was shot in simultaneously in multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil, and English and will also be released in the Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.
Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is all set to premiere worldwide on 1st July 2022.
