It is yet another big year for Kareena Kapoor, with the premiere of one of her films at the 67th BFI London Film Festival in October. Produced by Ektaa and Shobha Kapoor, the movie titled The Buckingham Murders is another of Hansal Mehta’s directorials. The actress took to Instagram to write, “The Buckingham Murders’ a journey that @hansalmehta, @ektarkapoor and I took is premiering at the 67th BFI London Film Festival. What makes this moment even more special is that it’s one of the three films from India that made it to the festival!.. If you happen to be in the UK, we hope you can watch it, it’s being shown at the Curzon Mayfair on the 14th and the Vue Leicester Square on the 15th October.”
About The Buckingham Murders
The movie’s official synopsis reads, “[The movie] Follows Jass, a detective-mother who after losing her own child must investigate the murder of a 10-year-old in Buckinghamshire, going down a rabbit hole of secrets, where almost everyone in the small town becomes a suspect.” Hansal Mehta wrote on Twitter, ““One more piece of news I’ve been dying to share! Our labour of love, The Buckingham Murders, featuring the incredible Kareena Kapoor Khan, produced by @EktaaRKapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan in association with @MahanaFilms is set to have its world premiere at the prestigious 67th BFI London Film Festival.
Mehta describes the film as “an atmospheric thriller that delves into themes of loss, closure and the immigrant experience”. The film also stars Keith Allen and Ranveer Brar in important roles. Kareena Kapoor will also star in Jaane Jaan, releasing on Netflix on September 21, and in The Crew, alongside Kriti Sanon and Tabu next.
