Disney Plus has released the official teaser trailer for “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” series starring Walker Scobell. The official logline reads, “‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell), who’s just coming to terms with his newfound divine powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. With help from his friends Grover (Aryan Simhadri) and Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries), Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus.”

Author Rick Riordan co-wrote the pilot of the show with Jon Steinberg, while James Bobin directs. The three serve as executive producers with Dan Shotz, Bert Salke, Monica Owusu-Breen, Jim Rowe, D.J. Goldbeg, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell, and Riordan’s wife Rebecca Riordan.
Adam Copeland plays the god of War, Ares. Suzanne Cryer guest stars as The Mother of Monsters, Echidna. Jessica Parker Kennedy plays the infamous gorgon, Medusa. The guest star cast includes:

The series is based on Rick Riordan’s most popular young-adult fantasy book series consisting of five novels. ‘Perc Jackson’ book series was previously adapted into two films PJ and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010) and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (2013), with Logan Lerman playing the titular character.
The eight-episode first season of Percy Jackson is scheduled to premiere on December 20.
