The concluding chapter to the trilogy which started with Jigsaw (2018), followed up by Spiral (2021) is here in the form of Saw X. Overall, as the title suggests this is the 10th instalment of the Saw franchise which is the brainchild of veteran horror director James Wan. The man is a cinematic genius as he is singlehandedly responsible for the inception of three major horror franchises of the 21st century – Insidious, The Conjuring and Saw. But none of the prequels, spin-offs and sequels match to the quality of the first Saw movie, which is widely considered to be a horror masterpiece. So, is Saw X the last of the torture films? Or are there going to be more? Well, even if everything points towards that Saw X will be the Saw film, there is a post credit scene at the end of the film that suggests not.

Saw X Post Credit Scene Shows Jigsaw Isn’t Done Yet!

Saw X’ post credit scene shows Jigsaw torturing another person, which is supposed be a hint at what is coming next for the franchise according to the producer’s past comments. Saw X takes place between the timeline of Saw  and Saw 2. So, whether this post credit scene hints at how the tenth film connects to these films or whether it sets out a new direction for Jigsaw and the Saw franchise, that has to be seen.

Watch the full post credit scene below:

The official synopsis for the film reads, “Hoping for a miraculous cure, John Kramer travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure, only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. Armed with a newfound purpose, the infamous serial killer uses deranged and ingenious traps to turn the tables on the con artists.” The title might suggest that this is the last of the Saw movies but if you know Hollywood then a franchise never truly dies especially if it is critically and commercially viable.

Saw X is now playing in theatres near you.
