Sound of Freedom is one of 2023’s biggest summer hits, grossing $183.2 million in North America alone and $34 million from international markets. The global cume of the film is massive $217.2 million over a budget of only $14.5 million. Angel Studios, the studio behind the film announced that the film has sold over 15 million tickets, achieving 770% of its $2 million original goal. In a landscape where films like Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One and The Flash choked at the box office, a small venture like Sound of Freedom emerged as the winner. Sound of Freedom is one of the few films except for Oppenheimer and Barbie to perform so well at the box office this summer. In case you missed one of the best films of the year in theatres, then don’t worry as the film is coming to digital platforms very soon.
Sound of Freedom Will Arrive On Digital Platforms Much Later Than Expected!
Angel Studios has confirmed that Sound of Freedom will hit PVOD platforms on November 3rd. The film will also have its physical media (DVDs and Blu-ray) release from November 14th, 2023 on the official Angel Studios Shop and other major retailers. Also, Sound of Freedom will be able to purchase on pay-per-view or transactional video on demand (TVOD) after December 15th. We still don’t have any update on the film’s streaming release date but based on current trends films generally start streaming post their physical media release.
So, you can expect Sound of Freedom to be available for streaming post November 14th. Although, The Angel Guild will begin an exclusive viewing (streaming) window on Friday, October 13 via the Angel Studios apps. However, when it comes to conventional streaming platforms like Disney+, Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Peacock and more, Sound of Freedom will start streaming soon as a source told Vulture about the impending bidding war for the film.
The statement read, “It’s anticipated to sell for eight figures to an SVOD (subscription video on demand), which is rare and the type of payday typically reserved for blockbuster theatricals.”
Sound of Freedom will be available for digital purchase from November 3rd, 2023.
