Netflix’s ‘Doona!’ Drops Official Trailer
Korean series Doona! is adapted from the webtoon “Lee Doona!” written by Min-Song-a and published by Naver Webtoon. The story follows a successful female K-pop idol who is the key to her group’s popularity. She abruptly announces her retirement and isolates herself from music inside a college town shared house. There she meets a regular broke college student who shelters her from the harsh consequences of her decision.
“Doona is straightforward and blunt, but she also carries many scars within. She may seem like a cat with sharp claws, but in reality, she is like a ‘dog-cat’ who likes people,” said Suzy in a prepared statement. Despite being a main character, Doona maintains silence regarding the reasons for her retirement from her idol career. The trailer hints at her turbulent past, with glimpses of breakdowns and unanswered questions.
Production of the show is through CJ ENM’s Studio Dragon, Showrunners, and Naver’s Studio N, with distribution by Netflix.
