The series apparently focuses on Jedi warriors of the Prequel era, including Qui-Gon Jinn and his master Count Dooku, Ahsoka Tano, Mace Windu and more. The original animated shorts were designed in the style of CGI that’s seen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Liam Neeson Returns as Qui-Gon Jin

Liam Neeson last voiced Qui-Gon Jinn in Clone Wars, his likeness as a force ghost and voice is used briefly in three episodes of the show. According to Dave Filoni at the panel of Star Wars Celebration, Qui-Gon appears in two different iterations, both young and old in the new series. Liam Neeson will voice the older version of Qui-Gon, while the younger version of the Jedi will be voiced by none other than Liam Neeson’s son, most probably the elder one.

Dave Filoni also revealed he worked on the Ahsoka Tano short for the series that delves into the past of her, including her childhood, parents and her Togruta background.  He also shared a Trailer for the series that shows footage of Anakin training Ahsoka for a few moments. About Neeson’s inclusion in the series as voice actor, Filoni said the following after sharing the character’s concept art. “It’s this guy you don’t even know, Liam Neeson. But it’s not just him. I had his son play young Qui-Gon.” Seems like Tales of the Jedi would be another successful Star Wars Animation property just like Clone Wars.
