The hit mockumentary sitcom starring an created by Quinta Brunson was compelled to halt the production of Season 4 due to the Hollywood strikes. Following the end of the writers’ strike in late September, the writers quickly started working on Season 3.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Season 3 will commence filming during the week of November 27. The news comes shortly after the SAG-AFTRA Hollywood strike came to an end on November 9. This information solidifies the potential release in the first quarter of 2024. As per Variety, with CBS setting mid-February debuts for their shows, ABC will possibly follow a similar approach, aiming for the release of Abbott Elementary Season 3 by late February or early March. Deadline reported Abbott Elementary Season 3 will run for 14 episodes, 8 episodes less than the second season.
