I think this is the thousandth time I’m writing an article on Fantastic Four casting. This is even more than the times I wrote about Avatar: The Way of Water’s box office records spree. Generally, I won’t mind writing articles on similar subjects. However, every time I write something about Fantastic Four’s casting, my next article brutally contradicts it. After spinning around various big names in Hollywood the casting of Reed Richards finally seem to come to rest around Adam Driver but after months speculation, it appears as if the actor is no longer in the running for the part. There is no casting done for the other three characters in the Marvel family. As production on the film should begin soon, it appears that Marvel has approached another big name for the smartest man alive.
Fantastic Four: Another Big Name Drops For Mr. Fantastic!
A new report from Deadline revealed that Marvel Studios has approached Pedro Pascal for the role of Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic. The report states that the deal isn’t signed between the two parties. The reason for this delay in ratification is Pascal’s schedule as he is gearing up to be in Gladiator 2 and The Last of Us Season 2. The Hollywood Reporter also added that Pascal’s schedule is a factor in whether or not he will join the MCU and reportedly “the current status of the talks is unclear.”
Pascal had earlier mentioned his excitement for joining a Marvel film as he would embrace the part wholly, including wearing a cape and CGI. Should this news be true, bringing Pedro Pascal into MCU for one of its most prominent roles, it’s likely that casting news for Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Johnny Storm (Human Torch), and Ben Grimm (The Thing) will soon follow.
The Fantastic Four reboot is slated to release in theatres on May 2nd 2025.
