Perhaps the only piece of content that has not faced the superhero fatigue is Amazon Prime’s flagship show – The Boys. The show is based on the adult superhero comic book series of the same name, written by Garth Ennis and co-created, designed, and illustrated by Darick Robertson. The show took off in its debut season because of the twisted nature in which superheroes were presented. At the time, superhero movies were at their peak so naturally The Boys gained attention but audiences discovered something superior rather than your usual run of a mill superhero blockbuster. The subsequent seasons just kept getting bigger and better. The show found more audience and that didn’t make it less weird. The Boys has maintained its weirdness which is why the show boasts such a loyal fanbase. Season 3 left things at a crucial junction. The wait for season 4 has been overbearing with the delays, strikes, etc. So, finally after crossing all these hurdles, we have The Boys Season 4 trailer and it is amazing!
The Boys Season 4 Trailer Teases Terrible Things!
The trailer is as crazy as one would expect but what I loved is the philosophy explored. Looks like the exploitation of democracy’s loopholes will be the theme of this season. From the images it is clear that Victoria Neuman is a pivotal character in season four and she might also be the main villain. Another observation, seems like Homelander and Starlight would be standing against each other in an election. I’m not sure whether they’re the literal candidates or whether they extend their support to different candidates causing the riots.
Looks like Homelander has found a new partner in crime and so did Butcher as he joined hands with Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s unnamed character. There are many new supes introduced with all kinds of crazy powers, promising that the fourth and possibly the last season of The Boys will be just as much crazy. One gripe which I do have from the trailer is I didn’t see much blood. Except for the last shot of Homelander, I don’t think there was any blood throughout this trailer. I hope this is not the case with this season.

The Boys cast will also be growing, in addition to returning members like Quaid, Fukuhara, Karl Urban, Erin Moriarty, and Antony Starr. New supes Sister Sage and Firecracker will be played by Susan Heyward and Valorie Curry respectively, alongside other newcomers Rob Benedict, Elliot Knight, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Rosemarie DeWitt (who will be playing Hughie’s mother opposite returning star Simon Pegg). It has also previously been hinted at that Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy, who debuted in season 3, might be returning as well.
All three season of The Boys are available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The Boys Season 4 doesn’t have a release date yet.
