House of the Dragon Season 3

House of the Dragon takes us back to the fascinating if not terrifying world of Westeros – Game of Thrones. The HBO show adapts George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood that accounts the entire history of the most powerful house in the history of Westeros – House Targaryen or House of the Dragon. HOTD Season 1 was an overwhelming hit for HBO, having the highest average audience per episode since Game of Thrones Season 8. As a proud GOT fan, I was delighted that the franchise redeemed itself with a show of such quality, after we all know what happened. Because of the excellent start of the show, it was renewed for a second season at HBO almost instantaneously (after episode 1). However, it appears that season 3 is all set to beat season 2 in getting a quick renewal.

House of the Dragon Season 3 In Development Even Before Season 2 Drops!

Reliable leakster Culture Crave reveals that House of the Dragon season 3 is already in development at HBO. In fact, the show has proceeded from early development stages to scripting stage for season 3. One has to note that this simply a report. HBO or anyone associated with House of the Dragon hasn’t commented on the matter. This report does make sense though, House of the Dragon season two is unquestionably going to be a hit given the hype for it. HBO will most likely officially renew the show for a third season after season two’s debut.

So, instead of starting development after the official renewal, the creative team is saving time and getting a good head start for season three by starting the work early. This will enable them to deliver season 3 much earlier than the two long years they took for season two. Fans should be happy about this report, if of course it is true. House of the Dragon season two is going to absolutely epic. The show will end on an outstanding cliffhanger which will make us beg for season three.
