The HBO original series, Westworld is one of the most mind bending pieces of cinema ever made. Aside from complex narrative and complex characters, it boasts impressive VFX, beautiful cinematography, and a powerful cast ensemble. Much like Game of Thrones, the series doesn’t have one particular lead but multiple characters who have a love-hate relationship with the viewers. The best part about this series is that there are no black and white characters but all of them are grey. With two outstanding seasons and one train-wreck, Westworld is back with season 4. The poster was revealed by HBO at the ATX Television Festival. It carries a tagline of “Adapt or Die” and showcases two host arms holding a human skull. One of these arms can be one pulling a Host pearl (basically CPU) out of the skull, with a symbolic fly sitting on it. If you look closely inside the eye of the skull you’ll see a human city, and all this hints at hosts taking over the world. The poster is awfully similar to the cover of Distance Over Time album by an American progressive metal band Dream Theater
James Mardsen Returns as Teddy In Westworld Season 4
Another awesome news revealed at ATX Television Festival was that James Marsden will return to the series. Although, it wasn’t revealed how and why he’d return but he’ll be there. Also it isn’t yet confirmed whether he’ll appear as Teddy or some other character. As you may remember, the fan-favorite and the only all good character on the show, Teddy took his own life in season two when he realised Dolores has brainwashed him and was using him. Here’s what the actor had to say about his role:
“Sometimes you have to go away to come back. We learn to speak cryptically on this show. This has been 7 years of our show and yeah, it’s an amazing thing to be a part of and see where the story goes. From the beginning, I didn’t know where it was all gonna go but I’m glad to see it now.”
Evan Rachael Wood Is Not Dolores
Evan Rachel Wood, who played one of the most powerful characters on TV, will be playing a new character named Christina. Christina apparently, lives in New York City and here’s what series co-creator Lisa Joy Nolan said on the subject – “There’s a girl named Christina and she’s wonderful and she’s just trying to make it in the big city.” To this Evan Rachael Wood added, “She’s a writer, she dates…It’s slim pickings out there….Christina looks a lot like Evan Rachel Wood. Maybe not as maniacal and murdery as Dolores.”
Westworld season 4 is all set to premiere on June 26, 2022.
