All of Us Strangers was one of the most intriguing films from last year that I was dying to see. It starred Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott, two of my favorite actors in lead roles. If that wasn’t enough then just read the premise of the film – One night in his near-empty London tower block, screenwriter Adam has a chance encounter with mysterious neighbor Harry, puncturing the rhythm of his everyday life. As a relationship develops between them, Adam finds himself drawn back to his childhood home, where his parents appear to be living just as they were on the day they died 30 years ago. It is so weird, how could you not want to watch it?
However, the film barely released in western countries so there was no question for an India release. I spent the entire month of December and January searching for the film’s online debut. However, I found nothing. Well, unlike me you don’t have to search everyday as the film has finally set a date for its digital debut.
All of Us Strangers Finally Sets a Digital Debut Date!
When to Stream reports that Andrew Haigh’s All of Us Strangers will be available on digital platforms (sale-only) and Hulu on February 22nd, 2024. This means that the film would finally come to online platforms two months after its initial theatrical debut. The Paul Mescal starrer is a fantasy/romance from acclaimed British director Andrew Haigh who is responsible for films like Weekend, 45 Years, Lean on Pete and the HBO series Looking and its film sequel Looking: The Movie.
No official figure has been revealed for the budget of The Andrew Haigh directorial, however, the film has earned $8.2 million so far at the worldwide box office. All of Us Strangers is based on the 1987 novel Strangers by Taichi Yamada. It is the second feature adaptation of the novel, after the Japanese film The Discarnates (1988).
The film world-premiered at the 2023 Telluride Film Festival and was also screened at the London Film Festival last week. Along with Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal in lead roles, the film also stars Jamie Bell, and Claire Foy.
All of Us Strangers released in theatres on December 22nd, 2023.
