Marvel has finally announced the cast of their Fantastic Four reboot. I think everyone will be happy with casting calls as these were the names that we’d been hearing for a while. However, we’ve only gotten the confirmed cast of the main Fantastic Four family. We don’t know who has been cast as Silver Surfer, Dr. Doom or even Galactus. We’ve heard many so many options so far that its almost confusing who is Marvel’s top choice for these iconic villains. Well, I don’t know about Dr. Doom or Silver Surfer but we do have one name for Galactus that is just begging to be announced.
Javier Bardem Has Been Cast As Galactus!
Reputed industry insider Jeff Sneider has confirmed on InSneider’s has confirmed that despite Marvel only announcing the main four members of the Fantastic Four, the studio has their heart set on giving the role of Galactus the world eater to Academy Award-winning actor Javier Bardem. The report further mentions that the actor is very close to sign the deal.
The only factor delaying his casting is his tight schedule. However, the studio is trying to work around his schedule to secure him as their Galactus. With Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, the addition of Javier Bardem as Galactus will give Marvel the luxury of having an array of talented actors.
Sneider further added that that Doctor Doom is still expected to make an appearance in the film to tease future appearances in the MCU. However, this report doesn’t mention which actor is in contention of playing Doctor Doom. Of course these are simply rumors and no confirmation has been offered by Marvel Studios. Previously Galactus has been reported to be the upcoming film’s main antagonist.
This has left fans wondering how The Fantastic Four’s arch-nemesis Doctor Doom may play a role in the future, especially after the firing of Kang actor Jonathan Majors. Many have speculated that Doctor Doom would become the new “Thanos level” threat in the MCU’s multiverse saga. However, Marvel has since announced their decision to recast the role of Kang the Conqueror, so, Dr. Doom’s active involvement is far away.
The Fantastic Four reboot is slated to release in theatres on July 25th, 2025.
