Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys series has a spin-off in development and recently Patrick Schwarzenneger, the son of legendary actor Arnold Schwarzenegger had given update on the show. Patrick is part of the cast and shared his thoughts on the tone of the superhero spin-off. The actor said the following about the series, “This set is really fun, and there’s just a loosey-goosey comedy, It’s kind of like Euphoria meets superheroes, I guess.”
Patrick Was Initially Auditioned For Homelander
The actor also recently confirmed in a podcast interview he gave that he initially auditioned for the role of Homelander in The Boys. But the role ultimately went to the actor Anthony Starr, though the actor didn’t got the role, the producers have given him the chance in the spin-off. The actor also explained the casting and filming process for the spin-off is carried out in a very secretive way and he had to go to Toronto.
The actor has said the following about The Boys spinoff filming process.
“I honestly didn’t know anything, I can say that because it’s true. It’s not like I chose not to read something. They are so secretive about what the heck happens in this show. It’s The Boys! I know it’s gonna be something f—ing crazy.”
The Boys Spin-off Plot and Other Details
The plot and spin-off title of the show is currently underwraps, but according to the basic premise the story follows a group of young college-going supes in the country, the college where only supes attend and thee they have to compete against each other by graudation time for top countries to police the big cities. Along with Patrick Schwarzenneger, the show also contains actress Jaz Sinclair who plays a supe named Marie.
Eric Kripke previously mentioned the spin-off as “one of the most realistic college shows that’s ever been made,” and similar to The Hunger Games.
