Attack on Titan: Special Fall Event for Final Season Announced

Fans can’t keep calm ever since it was announced that a special event would be hosted to celebrate Attack on Titan’s ongoing final season! The series’ official website unveiled the “Attack on Titan Final Season SPECIAL EVENT 2022”, alongside a gorgeous new artwork from character designer Tomohiro Kishi. The picture shows Eren, Armin, and Mikasa as children racing towards a giant tree in the foreground, with an adult Eren contemplating in the background.

The two-part event will kick off On November 13 with an orchestral concert at Tokyo’s Tachikawa Stage Garden, featuring composer Kohta Yamamoto’s work and performers Yuko Ando and Ai Higuchi. Fans can also expect a voice actors panel, including appearances from Yuki Kaji (Eren), Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa), Marina Inoue (Armin), Kisho Taniyama (Jean), Romi Park (Hange), Hiro Shimono (Connie) and Ayane Sakura (Gabi).

The website also confirmed that Attack on Titan: The Final Season – Part 2 will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on July 20. A 68-page booklet comprising staff interviews and storyboards from Part 2, as well as a copy of Kishi’s artwork, will be included along with the episode discs. Additionally, those who purchase copies in Japan will have first access to tickets for the event’s concert.

The third installment of Attack on Titan: The Final Season is set to air in 2023. Part 2 has gotten to about Chapter 130 of Hajime Isayama’s post-apocalyptic manga, which implies that nine chapters remain to be adapted. Part 3’s production specifics are currently unknown, although it appears that Yuichiro Hayashi, the director of Parts 1 and 2, will return to complete the story. In a recent interview, he revealed, “After I finished Part 1, I went on to direct Part 2, and I felt I had gotten much more familiar with Attack on Titan, so I think I’ve been able to direct more comfortably.”

The story of Attack on Titan follows Eren as he grows into a young man who wishes to eradicate all Titans after the giant man-eating creatures demolish his city and swallow his mother in front of him. It is set in a cruel, dystopian world where humans hide from these monstrous Titans in walled towns. While Eren is portrayed as a hero at the beginning of the series, the plot developments eventually turn him into humanity’s rival.
