Horizon: Live-Action Release Date, Cast, Plot, All You Need To Know -

Netflix is making a significant move into video games, and in addition to actual games, the streaming service is working on various adaptations of popular titles. Horizon is one such project that will be a live-action rendition of the Horizon video game franchise, which centers around Aloy as she journeys across a post-apocalyptic America populated primarily by mechanical creatures.

At this stage of the production, no directors or cast members are known to be attached. However, Carter Swan and Asad Qizilbash are both well-known names in the world of live-action PlayStation adaptations, having worked on Uncharted as well as the upcoming projects like The Last of Us, Ghost of Tsushima, and Twisted Metal. PlayStation Productions and Sony Pictures Television are behind the Netflix series, which was first announced in May 2022.

Horizon is a video game series created by Guerrilla Games, a Dutch developer well known for the Killzone series.

Here’s What We Know So Far About Netflix’ Horizon Live-Action Adaptation

The original game, Horizon Zero Dawn, is set in the post-apocalyptic United States in the 31st century. Horizon Forbidden West, a sequel, was released in 2022. As of June 2022, no cast for Netflix’s Horizon series has been confirmed.

In the main game, we follow Aloy, who grew up without parents and lived alone, isolated from the four tribes: the Nora, the Banuk, the Carja, and the Oseram. As she grows older, she has to examine a condition known as “Derangement,” which has caused machines to become more violent toward humans. Moreover, larger and scarier machines start showing up.

Ashly Burch plays Aloy in the game, along with Lance Reddick, John MacMillan, and John Hopkins, who also voiced characters in the game.

Sadie Sink has recently become one of the most popular fan choices for the role of Aloy, thanks to the Horizon announcement that came almost simultaneously with the release of Stranger Things Season 4, which showed Sink in a fascinating and memorable scene, which the internet loved.

No official filming dates have been confirmed. It has been reported that filming could begin in Toronto within the next month or two, but that’s just speculation at this point. Netflix hasn’t announced a release date for this live-action adaptation of Horizon, but given that production began in 2022, the first season is likely to arrive on the streaming service by early 2024.
