Batgirl Test Screening Leaks and Plot Details

DCEU’s Batgirl film had its first test screening recently and the director of the film also announced few days back that the post production work of has already begun. The first test screening news came out few hours ago and check out the details below.

Batgirl Test Screening & Plot Details

According to Batgirl test screenings, the role of the superhero protagonist Barbara Gordon/Batgirl is absolutely done justice in this film as per test audience. The best friend of Barbara Gordon, Black Canary, with whom she had led the superhero team Birds of Prey comics is not present in this film. However, her poster is clearly seen in the film and Batgirl also reportedly gets a second suit in the film.

Batgirl – Keaton’s Batman

The film takes place after the events of Flash, which pushes the whole DCEU into a rebooted universe with Keaton replacing Affleck as the aged Batman of this universe.  Both Batman and Batgirl are going to have a strict no-kill rule unlike Affleck’s Batman. The musical score for Keaton’s Batman entrance sequence is blend of Danny Elman’s classic Burton-Keaton’s Batman score with Affleck’s Batman theme music. But according to sources this is mostly a placeholder stuff and the work on the soundtrack isn’t yet done as tracks of The Batman is also played in some places as fillers for the soundtrack.

Other Details

Nightwing is not in this film. J.K. Simmons who previously portrayed Jim Gordon before in the DCEU, once again reprises his role. His arc is going to be sweet and funny according to the test audience and going to have an emotional arc dealing with Barbara losing the mother. The ending of the film is reminiscent of the FanDome concept art of Batgirl on a gargoyle. The Catwoman of this universe is Michelle Pfeiffer, who last appeared in the role in Tim Burton and Keaton’s Batman sequel, Batman Returns in 1992. For Birds of Prey fans, Screenwriter Christina Hodson who also serves as the screenwriter to this film would have a few Margot Harley references in the film.

Batgirl is currently slated to release in 2022 on the streaming service HBOMAX.
