The Office Steve Carell and Jon Krasinski Reunite in Imaginary Friends

John Krasinski has a come along from our favorite messy haired Jim. John Krasinski had not ties with the film industry when he joined the US Sitcom The Office. The US mockumentary was an adaptation of the British Sitcom created by Ricky Gervais. This was one of the many iteration of the classic sitcom. John Krasinski joined the very talented cast of the US Office in 2005. The cast included  Steve Carell (Michael Scott), Rainn Wilson (Dwight Schrute), Jenna Fischer (Pam Beesley), Angela Kinsley (Angela Martin), Mindy Kaling (Kelly Kapoor), B.J. Novak (Ryan Howard), Brian Baumgartner(Kevin Malone), Ed Helms (Andy Bernard) and Kate Flannery (Meredith Palmer). While the protagonist was clearly Steve Carell’s Michael Scott, the characters of Kransinski, Wilson and Fischer grew to prominence as fan favorites along with Carell. This became more apparent when Carell left the show in Season 7.

Wilson, Krasinski and Fischer were the people responsible for the show milking out another 2 seasons. After the show ended in 2013, the cast dispersed and Carell having left the show already was part of many new projects. Steve Carell is often regarded as the Tom Hanks of TV, although he has a lot of movies to his credit. He is a TV legend. After the Friends Reunion in 2021, fans were demanding a reunion for the Office as well. However, we haven’t gotten any official update on that there seems to be an unexpected development that might give us a subset of the same.

Krasinski and Carell From The Office to Reunite

John Krasinski after the office has starred in Jack Ryan but his most notable since has been the two horror flicks he directed. A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place II. The first film was out in 2018 and became an instant hit. It had marvelous ratings and the word mouth did the rest. It was easily one of the best of this decade along with Get Out and Hereditary. Krasinski was quick to come up with a sequel however, he wouldn’t act in it like he did for the previous installment. That was a given, considering his character died in that film. Oops, Spoiler Alert.

After having directed two successful horror films that starred his wife Emily Blunt, himself and Cillian Murphy Krasinski is coming out of his shell as he’ll be helming the star studded cast of Imaginary Friends. It is a supernatural, comedy and fantasy film. The film’s confirmed cast includes Ryan Reynolds, Phoebe Walter Bridge and Steve Carell. Steve Carell is currently busy promoting Minions: The Rise of Gru. Carell has voiced Gru in the film.

In such a promotional event, Carell confirmed his reunion with Krasinski in his upcoming film Imaginary Friends and in classic Steve Carell fashion joked about it.

“Well, I haven’t started working on the film with him yet, but I can’t wait,” Carell shared. “I’m anticipating just joy and fun. I mean, he’s the best, and he’s a great director.” Carrell joked, “I’ll put him through his paces, you know? I’ll make him work for it. I might be one of those persnickety actors that doesn’t always agree, or won’t come out of my trailer … You think you hired somebody that is a friend, but you got that wrong!”

We’re very excited to see John Krasinski and Steve Carell back together and we can only hope the film to have a film nods or references to the Office. Are you excited for Imaginary Friends? Let us know.
