X Men Taron Egerton in Talks to Appear as Next Wolverine After Hugh Jackman

Rocketman star Taron Egerton is reportedly in talks to appear as Logan AKA Wolverine, a role which previously portrayed by the actor Hugh Jackman in the Fox X Men film franchise for almost two decades and left with a bang in 2017 with the critically acclaimed Logan. Egerton revealed that he has been in talks with Kevin Feige and other Marvel Studio executives.

Egerton is Ready to Play Wolverine in MCU X Men

The actor has expressed his interest to take on the role of Wolverine and appear in both MCU’s X-men and Avengers films. The actor has said the following words about his desire to play the role.

“I don’t think it would be wrong to say that. I’d be excited but I’d be apprehensive as well, because Hugh is so associated with the role that I’d wonder if it’d be very difficult for someone else to do it. But hopefully if it does come around, they’ll give me a shot.”

This isn’t the first time Egerton shared his views on playing a superhero in the MCU. The actor has expressed a similar instinct back in 2019 in an interview but disputed the claims of him playing Wolverine in the MCU.

“That anyone thinks I would be good for the part is really flattering. I love Marvel, but it’s just fan stuff. There is no grounding for those rumors.”

Hopefully Marvel is going to announce something soon about the X-Men in the upcoming D23 Expo 2022 event which takes place from September 9-11. Meanwhile, there are also rumors and gossips that Hugh Jackman is going to reprise his role as Wolverine in Deadpool 3, which is going to be set in MCU for the first time after the Disney-Fox merger.
