Destiny 2 A New Destiny Game Under Development!

I think anyone out there even remotely aware with gaming has definitely heard about Bungie. Bungie is a company founded in 1991 by Jason Jones and Alex Seropian. The parent organization of the company is Sony. The company is responsible for giving us games like Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo: Combat Evolved, Destiny and most recently Destiny 2. There are many more games that the company has created and is soaring high. While all the above games were AAA titles, if you believe the latest rumors, the company seems to be interested in monetizing the current surplus in the mobile games industry. Bungie is looking to create a new mobile game and for that they seem to have joined hands with NetEase.

The new game seems to be part of the Destiny Franchise. This will be the first partnership between NetEase and Bungie. The project seems to be in the works for a long time. With details of it spilling ever slightly all the time.

A FPS Destiny Game in the works for over 2 years?

Bungie is teaming up with NetEase to develop mobile FPS game. An artist employed at NetEase shared ono their LinkedIn profile that they’ve assisted Bungie in developing an announced mobile FPS game. The Game Post reports that this game is in the works for over 2 years now and Bungie plans this game to be part of the Destiny franchise but the game wont be related to Destiny 2.

This news comes to us on the heels off the news of Bungie recruiting new talent for a big mobile game title in the Destiny franchise. The official job listings informed that Bungie was reportedly looking to recruit an Executive Producer, a Senior Test Manager and an Art Director to work on an upcoming Destiny game. The requirements mentioned that the company was seeking for applicants who had experience with AAA mobile gaming titles, as well as them being an expert with the Destiny IP.

A leak last month suggested that the new Destiny title will have the codename ‘Goliath’. Along with this another job opening mentioned a position for Principal Producer. The responsibilities for the same includes, “Fostering an understanding of ‘Goliath’ goals and vision across your teams. Work with the ‘Goliath’ Leadership Team and other Producers to help define and deliver on the roadmap of future Destiny releases”.

The job listing was later updated and the term Goliath was removed from it further raising eyebrows and suspicions. Let me know are you excited for the New Destiny Game? What are your thoughts on this news?
