Pushpa: The Rise, which starred Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles, was the highest-grossing Indian movie of 2021, and its sequel Pushpa 2: The Rule is one of the most eagerly anticipated sequels. The Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil, whose role would be further developed in the sequel as the film’s primary antagonist, made his Telugu debut in the Sukumar-directed film.
If rumors are to be believed, the Vikram actors Fahadh and Vijay Sethupathi may reunite in Pushpa 2 as the producers have asked the latter to play a pivotal role in the movie. Although an official confirmation has not yet been made, the news has fans buzzing.
Pushpa 2 – Sethupathi And Faasil Team Up In The Allu Arjun Starrer
The Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal actor has reportedly been offered the character of a mean, menacing antagonist in the movie after initially being cast as a forest officer in Pushpa: The Rise but being unable to do it due to scheduling issues. He will work with Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, a character played by Fahadh Faasil, to cause havoc and topple the empire that Allu Arjun, playing Pushpa Raj, constructed in the movie.
In the meantime, there have been fresh rumours that Srivalli, played by Rashmika Mandanna, may die in the sequel. Producer Y. Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers dismissed all the rumours as untrue and declared that Pushpa’s love interest would play a more significant part in the upcoming film.
According to a reliable source, Pushpa 2: The Rule will go on floors in August. “The movie is now scheduled to go on floors by August with a prolonged schedule spanning over six months. Multiple action scenes will be shot, and the ones designed so far are said to be among the costliest ever for Indian cinema. This would be followed by a long leg of post-production, as the team is now looking to release in the 2nd half of 2023,” disclosed a source familiar with the development.
Pushpa: The Rule will be released in theatres in the summer of 2023.
