It was initially planned for PlayStation 5 and PC release in May 2022, but Square Enix announced a delay until October. However, it currently seems unlikely that the title will be launched at this time, indicating that the game needs some additional care. The plot revolves around Frey Holland, an intelligent yet merciless woman who had a happy childhood in New York City and now finds herself in a franticly ruthless universe where the struggle for survival is ongoing. According to the most recent information on the game, which was revealed via the game’s official Twitter account, Forspoken will now be launched for PS5 and PC on January 24, 2023.
According to Luminous and Square Enix, the initial work on the game has already been completed, and the development team is currently concentrating on finishing up.
“As a result of ongoing discussions with key partners, we have made the strategic decision to move the launch date of Forspoken to January 24, 2023,” stated the announcement. “All game elements are now complete, and development is in its final polishing phase.”
Due to the game’s proximity to releases like God of War: Ragnarök and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, it now looks like Square Enix made the ‘strategic decision’ to release Forspoken during a much quieter period.
Square Enix is making Forspoken specifically for the PS5 and PC, and users won’t be able to play it on either PS4 or Xbox; however, that might just change shortly. The game’s fans will surely have more time to get ready for its public release now.
