A show which started off as being average went on to become one of the most talked about ones on TV. Last week’s episode of The Book of Boba Fett left the audiences mesmerized even though it featured the lead character for like 10 seconds. Today’s episode connected all the dots and made up for an exciting and worth watching finale with lots of Boba Fett. So, if you haven’t seen the episode, be warned that the following portions contain heavy amount of spoilers.
The War Breaks Out – Boba Fett vs Cad Bane
The war which was being foreshadowed from the very first episode finally broke out and provided us with some action packed and memorable moments. Watching Boba Fett and The Mandalorian (Din Djarin) fight together is always a pleasure. Fennec Shand, Black Krrsantan, Skad, and Drash had their own moments as well. We saw Shand take down all the heads of the Syndicate showing why she is one of the most fearsome Star Wars characters. We also saw Grogu go up against a droid and the rancor which made his Papa’s life difficult.
While the battle between the syndicate and our heroes helped by Free Town was incredible, the show stopper was Boba Fett vs Cad Bane. Ever since Cad Bane was introduced in Clone Wars, fans have wanted to see him go up against Boba Fett. Well that finally happened and it was without any doubt awesome! Cad took down and scared away Boba’s Rancor and almost beat the old man, standing true to his badassery. But of course, in the end the Disney heroes always win so Boba took him down with his Tusken ways, paying homage to the initial few episodes.
No doubt episodes 5-7 were incredible and Star Warsy but episode 2 still shines the brightest in the “Book of Boba Fett”. But if you consider the Star Wars’ greater universe, Episode 6 was the most “Star Wars”, Disney has produced since the prequels. One other cool thing about this episode was that the end credits theme by Goransson was synced with a chorus repeating Boba Fett’s name. That really seemed like paying a tribute to one of the most popular Star Wars characters and worked like a charm.
The Book of Boba Fett Ending and Post Credits
Talking about the ending, we need to have a serious discussion about the cuteness of Grogu (Baby Yoda). Not only did he steal the show in The Mandalorian but he did the same in the Book of Boba Fett as well. Disney seems to have the perfect strategy to popularize it’s Star Wars content. Just throw in Baby Yoda and let him spread his cuteness on the viewer’s screen. That said, I almost cried when Mando and Grogu reunited and did their signature stuff like playing with the gear ball, arguing, protecting each other, going lightspeed etc etc. As expected, it ended with Din and Grogu, perfectly setting up The Mandalorian season 3.
The post credit scene also hints towards The Mandalorian season 3. If you didn’t quite understand that scene, we’ll help you out. The guy you saw in the regeneration pod was none other than Cobb Vanth (the Marshal), who was shot by Cad Bane. Like we called it, he isn’t dead and is currently healing. We saw the Mod Artist readying a scalpel to operate of the Marshal and getting him ready for the next chapter of his life. The Marshal will surely return in The Mandalorian season 3 and even in some other upcoming Star Wars projects. As for Cad Bane, he seems pretty much dead but I wouldn’t be too sure. After all, he just appeared in the live action canon for the first time and Star Wars might not be done with him just yet. Guess we’ll have to wait and watch.
It is undoubtedly a good time to be a Star Wars fan as the Disney Plus Star Wars TV series have revived the struggling franchise. The standalone Ahsoka Tano series, Obi-Wan Kenobi series and of course The Mandalorian Season 3 are next in store for the Star Wars franchise.
