Black Adam Reveals a Sneak Peek at SDCC 22!

DCEU’s upcoming entry, Black Adam, features Dwayne Johnson as the titular supervillain and will showcase his origin story. The character is an adversary of Shazam portrayed by Zachary Levi in 2019’s Shazam and it is quite possible he makes a cameo in the film. Anyways some teasers like “world needs heroes” and the first trailer debuted some weeks ago and fans have been waiting for more such content. The trailer was pumping a lot of heart. These past few months we’ve been getting quite a few updates on Black Adam as  DC wants this film to do well so when they eventually do make Shazam and Black Adam fight it’ll be a spectacle. However, I’m unsure what a solo film to a potential villain means.

I mean if Black Adam chooses to be the destroyer of the world at the end of the world to make his villainous arc complete, that’s a bummer note to end a film on. Or if they do the opposite where he chooses to be the survivor, why will Shazam and him fight? Shazam is clearly a hero figure. As the trailers and teasers of the film were already out, WB decided to go with showing some more footage from the film. They have released a Sneak Peek from the film at SDCC’2022, let’s see what it entails.

Black Adam: Does the SDCC’22 Sneak Peek offer us New Footage?

The sneak peek was only about 1.16 minutes and in that we were told the same thing about Adam’s backstory. Most of the shots used for this were same except a few. There’s a voiceover that has new words, although thematically they mean the same. Then we see some shots that we’ve seen in the trailers and teasers earlier. However, we see some shots of the Olympian like figures that are against him, we see them use their superpowers and yes that looked amazing.

The film’s VFX has improved in this Sneak Peek compared to the last two teasers or trailers we’d gotten. The film should look awesome as it is made on a gigantic budget of $185 Million-$200 Million. The DCEU has certainly been improving after its dull start, so let’s hope this film is another addition to the good films of the Extended Universe rather than the underwhelming ones. If you trust The Rock, then according to him this is the best film you’ll see in the entire year. Let’s hope he’s right. Check out the Sneak Peek below:

Black Adam is slated to release in theatres on 21st October 2022.
