The revelation that The Last of Us is getting a remake named The Last of Us Part 1 was made during the most recent Summer Game Fest event. On September 2, The Last of Us Part 1 will launch on the PlayStation 5, but a PC version is also in the works. TLOU Part 1’s PC release has not been given a set date, but it could come sooner than anticipated.

When a fan expressed excitement for the PC release of the game on Twitter, Naughty Dog developer Jonathan Benainous stated, “PC version should come out a bit later, but very soon after the PS5 release!” Although it’s still vague, this seems to suggest that fans won’t have to wait a long time to enjoy TLOU Part 1 on PC.
Sony typically takes years before releasing a PC version of its PlayStation exclusive games. Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, which debuted on PS5 in January but hasn’t yet arrived on PC, is actually still in demand from PC gamers. A definite date has yet to be revealed for the PC port of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, but it is expected to release sometime in 2022.
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered by Insomniac Games, will be the next Sony-published title to transition to the PC. It will be identical to the PS5 version of the 2018 PS4 game but with a few more bells and whistles to fully utilize the PC platform. Fans will be able to try out Spider-Man’s PC features – which were described in a recent post – as soon as the game launches on August 12.
TLOU Part 1 should also include certain exclusive features when it releases on PC, but fans will have to wait to find out more. On September 2, The Last of Us Part 1 will be released for PlayStation 5, with a PC version currently in the works.
