Amazon Prime’s The Boys has become one of its biggest assets as is evident by Season 3’s success. This season has cemented The Boys to be Amazon Prime’s no. 1 show. The show keeps on getting better with each new addition. While other shows wait months after their release to get a green light from the Studio/Network for another season, The Boys was renewed for its 4th Season even before the entire season 3 was out. Karl Urban who plays a pivotal character in the show, Billy Butcher had previously revealed that the filming for Season 4 would start very soon. This was days before Season 3’s finale. If the filming starts soon that implies the season is ready on paper. Season 4 can be here as soon as next year. Considering the dark note Season 3 ended on, I’m very excited for Season 4. Check out our review for The Boys Season 3.
The finale saw Ryan and Homelander walking away together. Ryan who is considered to be as powerful as Homelander as he is his biological son, him siding with Homelander who is a certified maniac maybe the worst thing that has happened in the show yet. Season 3’s end hinted at The Boys next mission being Victoria Newman. We were getting a lot of updates about the show’s 4th Season, so it was clear that the show’s next season is coming soon and the rumors were correct. Just few days back, Eric Kripke confirmed on Twitter that The Boys Season 4 has officially started filming. As the filming is on the way, there seems to be big addition to the show.
Do we know JD Morgan’s Role in Season 4?
Jeffrey Dean Morgan is a veteran Hollywood actor who is not new to the superhero space as he has starred in Zack Snyder’s Watchmen as the Comedian or Edward Blake. He was part of The Walking Dead and has starred in many films and TV shows. The actor is a fabulous for entering the world of The Boys as each actor in it enhances their characters and make them memorable. I can see JD Morgan doing something similar.
Reportedly, Showrunner Erick Kripke wanted to involve Morgan in The Boys from Season 3 but due to the scheduling issues with Morgan and Ackles it couldn’t got through. I don’t think he’ll be playing a superhero, rather he’ll play one of the corporate people. Maybe after Edgar’s exit there is someone new. Morgan’s role isn’t clear yet but there are a lot of possibilities. With his addition to the cast, my excitement for Season 4 has gone up a notch.
Recently we had gotten an update that the 4th Season of the show will have a lot more of Ryan- Homelander’s son. The show recently upgraded Ryan’s character from a series regular to a main character of the show. This move suggests that the 4th season will definitely have a storyline where Homelander and Butcher will be fighting for Ryan’s soul. Season 4 can also be the show’s last considering everything. Ryan turning to be a normal kid or a disturbed kid is what we have to look forward to.
Check out the way in which The Boys’ cast and crew has welcomed JD Morgan!
