Renfield Plot
Renfield is going to be a horror comedy vampire film featuring Nicolas Cage as Count Dracula. Nicholas Hoult will serve as his frustrated assistant, Renfield who decides to leave his line of work after falling in love. The film will showcase the classic struggle between an employer and and employee with supernatural and comedic elements.
Universal Pictures tried to replicate the shared universe formula of Marvel and DC but failed terribly. The Mummy (2017) was meant to be the first film in their dark universe which included Dracula storylines as well. But owing to its disastrous performance both critically and commercially, the shared universe plans were cancelled. Now Universal Pictures is going back to telling individual stories and Renfield is going to be the first of them.
