Marvel Phase 4 is going to introduce us with another new superhero with her own show called She-Hulk: Attorney At Law. The show is about a superhero girl Jennifer Walters who works for a Law Firm that handles superhero cases. The show’s narrative will be mostly about how Walters will balance between being a lawyer and a Superhero. There was some backlash regarding the show’s VFX for sometime but that is now clear. She-Hulk can pull the MCU out of the creativity rut that it has been stuck in. She-Hulk will be full of it. Not only from a narrative perspective but the show will also be filled with cameos and even after credit scenes. Especially the kind of year that Marvel has had, a win would really do good for them. Except for some genuine hits like Loki, Moon Knight, Spider-Man: No Way Home and Shang Chi & the Legend of Ten Rings, Phase 4 for the MCU has been a dull affair.
Every now then they come up with something that we feel like could bring back the MCU charm but that ship has long crashed into the iceberg. She-Hulk has released its first 3 episodes and 4th one will debut today. While the series is being review bombed by toxic fans, its overall reception has been good except for the third episode. The post credit scene in that episode saw She-Hulk twerking with Megan Thee Stalion and fans are divided on it. I’m not sure after this whether the 4th episode will be received with warmth or not. Regardless, the first clip from the first episode has been released and it hints that the episode will focus on Jennifer’s dating life.
She-Hulk: New Clip Shows Jennifer’s Dating Life?
The new clip that is released show Jennifer working on a new case and Nikki, her paralegal is sitting with her. Their conversation revealed that Jennifer’s dating life has been in a dry spell for a while. She asks Jennifer to show her profile, the app is not Tinder but looks like a fictional version of the same. It’s called matcher. As Jen’s profile picture is her legal headshot Nikki laughs and asks her to change the picture. Nikki then goes onto the site and starts swiping guys. According to her after 500 swipes then the real filtration starts.
Also, I don’t know whether its just me but Marvel has seemingly revealed Nikki’s sexuality as she murmurs, “My god…hetero life is sad.” Or something along these lines, I might paraphrasing. This would an addition to Marvel’s limited LGBTQIA+ characters. After this, Nikki suggests Jen why doesn’t she make a dating profile as She-Hulk. Jen asks Nikki about her hate for the She-Hulk name but is seemingly convinced about the idea of dating as She-Hulk.
This goes in line with the footages we’ve seen of She-Hulk dating and hooking up with guys. In the clip, Jen still seems a bit conflicted about her identity but I think starting from this episode she will start to see the perks of being a Hulk and accept the fame. Some reports has also mentioned that the She-Hulk series will have a wanna be Tony Stark named Todd played by Jon Bass. It was said that the character will enter the show via Jen’s dating life. He is a nuisance and will be extremely annoying. Well, it seems like this episode may finally include him.
Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters / She-Hulk, Jameela Jamil as Titania, Ginger Gonzaga as Nikki Ramos, Renée Elise Goldsberry as Amelia, Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky / Abomination, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner / Smart Hulk, and Benedict Wong as Wong: The Sorcerer Supreme. Apart from the main cast, the Web Series also stars Josh Segarra, Jon Bass, Anais Almonte, Nicholas Cirillo, and Griffin Matthews have been cast in undisclosed roles. Drew Matthews portrays Dennis “Buck” Bukowski, while David Otunga appears as one of Walters’ dates. The character Frog Man will also appear.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’s first three episodes are available for streaming. The rest of the episodes will drop weekly. Every Thursday at 12.30 pm IST.
