Attack on Titan or Shingeki no Kyojin is one of the most popular as well as one of the highest rated anime of all time. It is hard to believe that it has been over 9 years since it first came out and took the world of anime by storm. It is often referred to as the Game of Thrones of anime as it presents a dark and twisted world full of grey characters with mostly justified motivations as well as multiple realistic and relatable subplots. But like all things in the world, good or bad, it also has to end. While it is sad that this is the final season of the popular anime, we still have a few final episodes to go. Good news is that, from the looks of it, it seems like we might get more episodes than we expect.
Attack on Titan Season 4 Final Part Will Have 2 Cours
Its mind boggling that the first episode of AOT Season 4 came back in December 2020 and 2 years later, the journey seems to be only half completed. Season 4 Part 1 and 2 already have a total of 28 episodes and now everyone is eagerly waiting for Part 3 which is all set to debut in a couple of months. What’s new is that as per latest leaks, Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3 will be split into two different cours which means the show will go on longer than we expected!

Now how long each of these cours will be and how long will Part 3 be in total is still unknown. What I do not understand is that why not call it season 5? AOT Season 1 was 25 episode long, Season 2 was 12 episodes and season 3 has 22 episodes. So, their reluctance on not simply calling it Season 5 is beyond me. Anyways, it doesn’t matter what you call it, but what does is that the show is going to be a bit longer but the gap between the two cours will not be much. So, in any case, we expect Attack on Titan to be wrapped up by the end of 2023.
What’s worrying here is that there are a total of 139 manga issues and by Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2, 130 of them have been covered. So, with just 9 issues left to go, multiple cours means that either they’ll include longer battle sequences or they’re planning to add some original content. If the latter happens, it could be a risky scenario as fans usually aren’t open to drifting from source material. However, Attack on Titan’s ending is actually pretty debated and unpopular much like every other dark fantasy show in the world. So, no matter, the manga ending or an original ending, some faction of fans will ultimately end up being disappointed.
Unfortunately, this is the curse faced by every series at the top of the food chain and barely a few series manage to satisfy everyone like Breaking Bad. Add to that, being a dark fantasy world with multiple grey characters, and you have yourself a production who’s ending will always split fans. Anyways, Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3 Cour 1 Episode 1 or simply Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 29 is all set to release on 4 March 2023.
