Bleach is one of those anime which built the foundation of anime popularity around the globe. The series aired for over 8 years from October 2004 to March 2012, spanning 366 episodes. Thanks to its immense popularity, a sequel series called Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War aired its first 13-episode cour on TV Tokyo from October to December 2022. The second cour premiered in July 2023 and the show is all set to debut its 22nd episode this week. So, if you are a fan cannot control their excitement anymore, the following article consists of some major spoilers from the episodes.
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Episode 22 Spoilers and Summary Leaked
Bleach: TYBW Episode 22 has been directed by Young-hoon Jung with a screenplay by Masaki Hiramatsu and animation by Kazuo Takigawa, Studio Bus, Mika Okubo, and Natsuko Suzuki. The episode summary reads, “Ichigo and company learn that Yhwach’s aim is Rei-Ou’s Palace and try to stop him, but Uryuu was standing in their way. Despite understanding each other’s respective positions as Shinigami and Quincy, Ichigo is left agitated by their unexpected reunion. While talking with Orihime and Chad who rushed there from Hueco Mundo, Ichigo recalls fighting alongside Uryuu on a daily basis and reaches one single decision. At that moment, there was a confrontation between Rukia, Renji and Bazz-B, and Yumichika, Ikkaku and Giselle. Upon hearing Giselle’s shout, the one who suddenly appeared is…”
The episode adapts content from 5 chapters with some cuts and has been described as being on similar level to episode 15 in terms of quality. All comedic scenes involving Orihime’s outfit, including Chad asking Ichigo what he thinks about it, Yoruichi jamming her hand inbetween Orihime’s chest, etc., have been cut. All scenes involving Yhwach arriving at the Royal Palace and being confronted by Squad 0 from chapter 588 have been cut and most likely rearranged to a future episode.
There is no extended Shinigami vs Quincy battle royale. There is a new anime-exclusive scene featuring Komamura and Iba, about Komamura becoming an animal. THAT scene from manga between Giselle and Yumichika has NOT been cut and so hasn’t Bazz-B and Renji arguing about their hair. There is also a new scene for Byakuya with Nanana, Candice, Robert (no fight). As for the technicalities, Treachery, Soundscape to Ardor, and Unohana’s Bankai OST are all used in the episode, as well as many new tracks. Soundscape to Ardor plays in the new Komamura scene and Unohana Bankai OST plays during Giselle vs Charlotte.
Finally, Chad picking up Ichigo and throwing him at a building has been cut. The final scene of the anime is the very last page of chapter 591 which has been attached above. At the end of episode we hear a poem by Mayuri. That is pretty much all you need to know about it and as for the next episode, it will be titled MARCHING OUT THE ZOMBIES 2.
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Episode 22 is all set to debut on 9th September, 2023.
