Chainsaw Man is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto. It follows the story of Denji, an impoverished young man who after making a contract with a dog-like devil named Pochita, he fuses with Denji, granting him the ability to transform parts of his body into chainsaws. The first season of anime TV adaptation of Chainsaw Man ended a few weeks ago and second season is expected to debut later this year. But today we are going to talk about the ongoing manga which is all set to debut its chapter 122 next week.
Chainsaw Man Chapter 122 Spoilers and Full Plot Leaked
Obviously, massive spoilers for Chainsaw Man Chapter 122 titled, “The Great Prophecy” follow below, so read at your own risk. Although the manga is on a break this week, Japanese scans have been leaked and based on them, here’s a summary and well as the raw scans. Also, check out all the scans here.
We see Yoshida and Fami (Famine Devil) on a date where Fami orders Honey toast, fruit platters, vanilla ice-cream, chocolate cake, kiln-baked muffins and strawberry parfait, that too, five of each. Yoshida says even though the meal is on him, Fami should order with restrain to which Fami replies he asked her out, so its on him. Yoshida says, “I never expected you are willing to show up though, Fami senpai. No… I should call you the famine devil instead.” Fami asks hi to call her Fami itself, to which Yoshida says its ridiculous and people will identify her. She says it doesn’t bother her and asks him what he wants.
Yoshida begins a long monologue, “The Prophecies of Nostradamus… In the seventh month of 1999, a great king of terror would descend on the world… His prophecies predicted the extinction of the human species. The public talk about it but don’t really care that much. However the public safety does. They instructed an experiment where 30 prisoners were asked to contract with the future devil and ask for the exact day they die. Surprisingly, out of 30 prisoners, 23 of them are all told they will die in July, 1999. We know you all have been doing some awful stuff. The public saftey believes that is’s related to the Prophecies of Nostradamus. I am just demanded to be here to question you. If you are not willing to open up, I am afraid we have to treat you as a devil from now on.”
Fami says that the 7 other prisoners will all die in this week and that 40 seconds ago a devil appeared in (random japanese apartment area). Fami continues, “She is the first devil of those who will drag the world into the abyss of terror. Her name is the source of all fear, and her name is…” Just as she is about the speak the name, scene cuts to Yoru/Asa. Asa watches as random japanese citizens complain abount cars and insurances and suddenly decide to kill themselves. Yoru summons a “Ruler Sword” but then starts feeling terrible and afraid.
Something rises out of the pile of dead bodies and Yoru says, “Wrong. I misjudged… Such feeling… I can not fight this thing.” She finally decides to flee away. This is where the chapter ends! Who do you think this devil is? Our bet is on the Death Devil (The Fourth of the 4 Horsemen) as in the the previous chapter Nayuta (Control Devil) smelled something nasty and in this chapter Fami (Famine Devil) as well as Yoru (Justice Devil) have also confirmed that even they are afraid of this new devil. Aside from this, you can read the entire chapter, once it is out by clicking this link.
