Chainsaw Man is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto. It follows the story of Denji, an impoverished young man who after making a contract with a dog-like devil named Pochita, he fuses with Denji, granting him the ability to transform parts of his body into chainsaws. The first season of anime TV adaptation of Chainsaw Man ended a few weeks ago and second season is expected to debut later this year. But today we are going to talk about the ongoing manga which is all set to debut its chapter 123 this week.
Chainsaw Man Chapter 123 Spoilers and Full Plot Leaked
Obviously, massive spoilers for Chainsaw Man Chapter 123 titled, “Hors D’oeuvre” follow below, so read at your own risk. Although the manga will only come out later today, some information has been leaked and based on them, here’s a summary.
This chapter begins as the devil takes her form and reveals her name to be the Falling Devil. As she rises, she says she’ll be their chef tonight and we see Asa/Yoru trying to get away from her. Yoru asks Asa to snap out of her thoughts as Asa can make stronger weapons and not Yoru. Anyways, the Falling Devil begins to control people’s thoughts and show them their worst memories. So, as a result we see Asa’s childhood at an orphanage.
We see a teacher approaching Asa to talk about her cat and says that Asa should develop relationships with people over there instead of a cat. She goes on to share some of her childhood trauma with Asa and makes it clear that her cat could be problematic. Asa says her cat’s name is Crambon and then she goes to bed along with her other roommates. One of her roommates asks her about her cat and tells Asa that when they went to play near the river, they saw a cat like hers at the bottom.
Asa is shocked and when the teacher arrives to turn of their room’s light, she confronts her. The teacher states that everyone there had lost their family and it was unfair for Asa to be the only one with a family member. So, basically she killed her cat just cause she thought it was unfair. In the next panel, we cut to the present as we see Yoru/Asa along with everyone else near the devil hanging mid air. The devil states that the lower their heart sinks, the higher they’ll rise in the air.
We see Asa hanging on to a bar so that she doesn’t rise up any further as Yoru tells her that she cannot enter her body. This is where the chapter ends.
