Last month, New York Comic Con’s official website confirmed that there is going to be a Dragon Ball Special Panel on Thursday, Oct 12, 2023 between 12:45 PM and 1:45 PM at Empire Stage. They wrote, “Delivering the latest information on the world-famous manga and anime franchise, “Dragon Ball”. We will talk about new developments in the Dragon Ball series, along with a mysterious new teaser. Also the appearance of special guests!” The existence of the panel and the confirmation of a new mysterious panel almost broke the internet. As it happens, today we have some incredible news for all DB fans regarding the new web anime which is all set to arrive really soon! So, read on on to find out everything about it.
Dragon Ball Daima: Trailer, Plot, and Release Date
You read that right! The new DB anime is going to be called Dragon Ball Daima and not Dragon Ball Magic. Have a look at the trailer below:
As confirmed by Akio Iyoku, Dragon Ball Daima is going to debut during fall 2024. The trailer barely has any dialogues but showcases some slick animation which really impressed even the sceptics among the audience. Daima basically means “Evil” in English and it would follow our heroes as everyone is turned into child versions of themselves. The official synopsis, as provided by Iyoku reads:
“Due to a conspiracy, Goku and his friends are turned small. In order to fix things, they’ll head off to a new world! Its a grand adventure with intense action in an unknown mysterious world”
In the trailer aside from seeing all our characters being turned into kids, we also see the return of Babidi. From what is looks like the series is set between the events of Buu Saga and the Peaceful World saga. As you may know there was a 10 year time jump between these events and Dragon Ball Super is also set between these events. Hence, Dragon Ball Daima will most likely have Ultra Instinct Goku, Ultra Ego Vegeta, and Gohan Beast but they’ll all be stripped off their powers when they turn small. Rest still needs to be confirmed.
We’ll soon learn more about Dragon Ball Daima but some other details we think might be true are that the series may feature minimum 15 episodes of 20-45 minutes in length. Also, there has been speculation that the series will also connect to DB GT, hence paving the way for the arrival of Super Saiyan 4. However, these are just rumors. We’ll soon be back with more official information, so stay tuned!
