Last year, at New York Comic Con, Toriyama revealed a big surprise to the fans of Dragon Ball in the form of a new web series last Dragon Ball DAIMA. As confirmed by Akio Iyoku, Dragon Ball Daima is going to debut during fall 2024. The trailer barely had any dialogues but showcased some slick animation which really impressed even the sceptics among the audience. Daima basically means “Evil” in English and it would follow our heroes as everyone is turned into child versions of themselves. As it happens, today we have some brand new information about the series for you guys!
Dragon Ball Daima Opening y Hiroki Takahashi and More Details
As confirmed by one too many leakers including DBSChronicles, the opening song of Dragon Ball Daima will be sung by Hiroki Takahashi. If you are unaware, Takahashi also sang the very first Dragon Ball opening song called “Makafushigu Adventure”. Here to just confirm the speculations I saw on my timeline.

Aside from his singing career, he is also a renowned actor and voive actor in Japan. His major roles include Eiji Kikumaru in The Prince of Tennis, Tobias in Pokémon anime, Kenji Harima in School Rumble, Hisoka in Hunter × Hunter (1999), Katsuya Jonouchi in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters and Takato Saijō in Dakaichi. When asked about Makafushigu Adventure, he said, “If it weren’t for Makafushigi Adventure, my life would be completely different from what it is now (…) And the thread that keeps me bound to music is the song called Makafushigi Adventure. That’s why I’m going to keep singing that song, with all my heart, for as long as I can.”
As for Dragon Ball Daima, its plot synopsis reads, “Due to a conspiracy, Goku and his friends are turned small. In order to fix things, they’ll head off to a new world! Its a grand adventure with intense action in an unknown mysterious world”. In the trailer aside from seeing all our characters being turned into kids, we also see the return of Babidi. From what is looks like the series is set between the events of Buu Saga and the Peaceful World saga. As you may know there was a 10 year time jump between these events and Dragon Ball Super is also set between these events. Hence, Dragon Ball Daima will most likely have Ultra Instinct Goku, Ultra Ego Vegeta, and Gohan Beast but they’ll all be stripped off their powers when they turn small. Rest still needs to be confirmed.
We’ll soon learn more about Dragon Ball Daima but some other details we think might be true are that the series may feature minimum 15 episodes of 20-45 minutes in length. Also, there has been speculation that the series will also connect to DB GT, hence paving the way for the arrival of Super Saiyan 4. However, these are just rumors. We’ll soon be back with more official information which will be revealed at the Battle Hour on January 28, 2024 so stay tuned!
