Dragon Ball Super Manga’s latest Super Hero arc officially began with Chapter 88 back in December 2022 and it bow about to end. Granolah Arc, which began back with Chapter 67 has effectively ended with Chapter 87 in August which also brought an end to the battle between the Saiyans and Gas as a part of the Granolah Arc. The Super Hero Arc itself has been divided into two arcs Super Hero prequel arc and the Call Max Arc. The prequel arc concluded with Chapter 90 and chapter 91 – 98 basically covered the first 90 minutes of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. This month we’ll be getting Chapter 99 and that is exactly what this article is about as the first drafts of the chapter have been revealed!
Dragon Ball Super Chapter 99 Full Summary and Spoilers
First off, let me start by saying that Dragon Ball Super Chapter 99 Summary and all raw scans have been leaked today! The chapter basically continue the story almost exactly like the Super Hero movie. It just adds a few additional dialogues which give us more insight into what’s happening on screen. The chapter continues the story from Chapter 98 ending sequence where we saw Piccolo getting big to take on Cell Max while giving Gohan some time to refresh. We see Piccolo take Cell Max head on while Gohan powers up. Piccolo takes quite a few punches, and kicks from Cell Max as the others look worried.
Then Cell Max smashes Piccolo with his tail and we see Piccolo going down. But as usual, he gets back up and delivers Cell Max a solid punch only to receive more beating. Seeing Piccolo being beaten to a pulp by Cell Max and about to be killed, Gohan loses it. Much like his Super Saiyan 2 transformation, we see a sharp line piercing through his head signifying he’s snapped. Next we see Gohan charge up and attain a new transformation aka Gohan Beast!
Finally after 11 chapters Gohan Beast is here and Toyataro left no stone unturned with the arc of this issue. The design as well as the overall is simply phenomenal. Anyways, Cell Max proceeds to punch Gohan Beast but he doesn’t even blink. Gohan proceeds to beat Cell Max who is now clearly no match for him. Then we see his land and gather as much chi as he can while Gamma 1, Krillian, and Piccolo manage to hold Cell Max.
Gohan charges up his attack which is none other than Piccolo’s Ultra Beam Cannon and proceeds to fire it directly towards Cell Max. This is where the chapter ends. The next chapter will see the conclusion of Super Hero arc where Gohan Beast will defeat Cell Max and the next arc would be set up! But honestly, we’d also like to see a bit more battle sequences and some context for Gohan’s incredible transformation to make more sense. Because so far, manga has adapted the film scene by scene and hasn’t offered much insight into his transformation
DBS Chapter 99 Release Date and Time
As per info provided by VIZ, Dragon Ball Super chapter 99 is expected to be released on Tuesday, November 21 in the monthly V-Jump issue. As you may know DBS is serialized in Shueisha’s V-Jump magazine which is released on the 21st of every month, barring a Sunday or holiday. When DBS chapter 99 comes out, fans will be able to read it on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ app and Viz Media’s Manga Plus site. The international release time for the manga series’ upcoming chapter is expected to be the following:
- Pacific Time – 8 AM
- Eastern Time – 11 AM
- British Time – 4 PM
- European Time – 5 PM
- India Time – 8:30 PM
- Philippine Time – 11 PM
- Australia Central Time – 12:30 AM
