After being called an overextended and tiresome arc by fans, Dragon Ball Super Chapter 86 seemingly put an end to the Granolah arc. So, the next issue aka Dragon Ball Super Chapter 87 might be an epilogue and act as the final few pages of the Granolah Arc. But before the 87th issue arrives, something quite exciting has happened which has brought back the Dragon Ball Super hype after a month of silence.
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Beast Gohan To Arrive in Manga Soon!
This Dragon Ball Super Volume 19 Back Cover showcases Gohan, Videl and a grown up Pan, while Goku, Chi-Chi, and Kid Gohan can be seen in the reflection. The interesting thing here is that Pan has grown up which means there is going to be a time jump pretty soon in the manga. Do you know what this means? It means that it will take us to the events of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero where Pan was exactly this age and Gohan underwent his Beast Gohan / Final Gohan transformation!
Super hero is officially confirmed in the manga now I kept telling them wait for a special pannel now boom goten and teen trunk and beast are basically confirmed

The manga is already quite ahead and till now there is no mention of Beast Gohan. In fact, Gohan has went back to being underpowered like he was during majority of Dragon Ball Super. But as it happens, DBS: Super Hero takes place after the Galactic Patrol Arc/Moro Arc and sometime during the Granolah arc. It is possible that in some parallel event the showdown between Red Ribbon Army and Gohan must have taken place. Its a bit complicated but here is how the producer, Akio Iyoku explains it:
“Between this film and Toyotaro-sensei’s manga, we currently have two lines of Dragon Ball Super running. To begin with, the film is written purely as a sequel to [Dragon Ball Super: Broly]. We wanted to pick up on and meet the expectations of everyone who’s stuck with Dragon Ball so far, along the lines of, ‘It’d be neat this happened,’ or ‘I hope this kind of character shows up.’ And in [V-Jump’s] pages, we have the continuing story of Goku and Vegeta. We’ll see new strong enemies show up, and new stories, and events will continue to progress.
Of course Toriyama diligently oversees the storylines for the manga too, so it’s like we have events running in parallel. In terms of timeline placement, we try to not build things in too strictly-we’d like to leave margins in the story, to allow for a greater degree of freedom. For example, Broly himself was an anime-original character who was brought into the world of the main series by Toriyama’s own hand, and it’s precisely those kinds of margins being left in the world of the fiction that was allowed for and experiment in the first place. To put it simply, ‘Things are more interesting this way!’”
That’s a lot of words but the gist is that the filmmakers have taken a creative liberty with these movies and these characters and new transformations might or might not be implemented in the Manga. But this new volume cover looks highly promising and basically confirms Beast Gohan’s arrival in Dragon Ball Super Manga. This also means we’ll finally get to see Broly in the manga and man, it is really a great time to be a Dragon Ball fan. Truly exciting times!
