Dragon Ball Z Kakarot New DLC Will Be Piccolo Junior Saga of Original Dragon Ball

If you are unaware, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is an open world action role playing game developed by CyberConnect2 and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, based on the Dragon Ball franchise. It was released for PS4, Xbox One and Windows in January 2020, for Nintendo Switch in September 2021, and for Stadia in October 2021. The game is a classic rundown of all the events of Dragon Ball Z series allowing you to live it again as Goku. So, in case you need to recap the classic and popular series, DBZ: Kakarot is the the perfect way to do that. Anyways, this time they have a surprise for the fans as the DLC will not be about Dragon Ball Z or even Dragon Ball Super but the original Dragon Ball series.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot 5th DLC – Piccolo Junior Saga

Even though it is my personal belief that the entire Dragon Ball Z and Universe Survival Arc of Dragon Ball Super were the peak of the franchise, some of you might believe the original Dragon Ball was. But anyways, original Dragon Ball series introduced us to most of the protagonists of the series and set the stage for the sheer epicness of DBZ. One of the very best arcs of the OG DB manga was Piccolo Jr. Saga which is officially called the “23rd Tenkaichi Budokai Arc”. That is exactly what Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s 5th DLC will be about.

The extremely reliable source @DBSHype took to Twitter to share this incredible information. The original source of this information was @eL_Maverik_ and it was later confirmed by various sources. This is basically the first time that Bandai Namco has focused on the original DB series for their video games. This arc is really special for many fans as it introduces one of the most popular characters in the franchise aka Piccolo Jr. The arc pit Goku and co against Piccolo Jr but in a tournament setting instead of an all out battle. It featured some amazing fights including Goku vs Piccolo, Piccolo vs Kame, Goku vs Tien Shinhan, and Krillian vs Piccolo. That aside, it also featured a sweet banter between Goku and Chi-Chi which ultimately led to their engagement.

So, all in all, this was one of the best arcs of Dragon Ball alongside King Piccolo Saga, and Tournament Saga. So, a DLC about the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament is a brilliant idea as it will give fans a deeper insight into Goku’s past along with some incredible battles. I understand that some of you might have been expecting a Dragon Ball Super related DLC but there’s always next time. Until we meet again!
