“Katagiri Yuichi, a high school student who prioritizes friendship above all else, lives happily with his close friends Sawagiri Shiho, Mikasa Tenji, Shibe Makoto, and Kokorogi Yutori. They are, however, dragged into a debt repayment game following a particular incident. The only way to win the Tomodachi Game is for the players to trust their companions. The game should’ve been simple, as it was held together by strong friendships, but– the highly popular comic that has sold over two million copies is finally becoming an anime! Will they betray or trust their closest friends? In the ultimate psychological game, humanity’s true nature is revealed!”
In December 2013, Sato debuted the manga in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shnen Magazine. The manga went on hiatus in December 2019, then returned for one chapter in February 2020, and later on retook a pause. In August 2020, the manga entered its final arc.
